September AL!VE Academy: Project Management & Skills Based Volunteers

  •  how capacity building needs can be met by skilled volunteers, key tips for success, and goals and motivations for corporate volunteers to engage in SBV. The session will also provide information on how to access specific pools of pro bono volunteers through the Common Impact Pro Bono Hotline and Capacity Commons.

    Marjie Bland
    Senior Consultant, Common Impact
     
    An experienced trainer and program strategist, as a Senior Consultant at Common Impact, Marjie Bland works at the intersection of business and purpose. With more than 14 years in the service sector, she has managed countless cross-sector engagements and collaborations, and is passionate about sharing the promise and potential of skills-based volunteering with audiences. She brings a deep knowledge of both the nonprofit sector and CSR landscape to infuses her trainings with tangible examples, actionable recommendations, and excitement about skills-based volunteering models. She started her career at HandsOn Central Ohio, developing a portfolio of high-impact volunteer programming.
    She served as Manager, Affiliate Relations & Resources where she supported the work of more than 250 volunteer action centers around the world and led the team’s communication and training strategies.  She has consulted on new and innovative programs and expansions from her own community of Central Ohio to Rome, Peru and more. Marjie is a volunteer leader at heart and is passionate about connecting people to their opportunity to create change in their communities.
