We're Number 3 !

A recent article from Forbes.com has listed Coordinating Volunteers as the #3 most meaningful job, with Nursing Home Director and Pastor as #1 and #2, respectively.  While not all benefits were considered, 96% of us surveyed felt their efforts made the world a better place.

The new overtime law is coming - does it affect you?

AL!VE Board Member Dana Litwin Keynote Speaker at NCVS

If you're attending NCVS this year,
don't miss Dana's presentation!

"I am delighted and honored to be a keynote speaker at NCVS, for the Volunteer Engagement and Capacity Building Tracks Opening on Monday June 27th. I'm also excited that there will be a networking session right after, where I and the other keynote speakers can have deeper conversations with our peers about the topics we've just presented, as well as other issues and innovations in the profession."

An AL!VE member since 2013, Dana Cory Litwin, CVA, is a public speaking and volunteer management professional based in San Francisco, California. She has 14 years' experience building volunteer and community engagement programs, Board and advisory committee development, as well as relevant training, educational materials, and multi-media presentations for government and non-profit agencies. Dana is currently the Volunteer Programs Administrator for the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority. She enjoys mentoring other volunteer program peers, and for extra fun she produces, teaches, and performs music, comedy, and improv theater. Dana serves on the Board of Directors for the  Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE). and is a member of the National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government (NAVPLG).

Hybrid & Live Conference in Partnership with Better Impact Set for September 12-16, 2016

'Hybrid' Livestream Conference AND in-person event!

 

It's back!  AL!VE is pleased to partner again with Better Impact to provide another professional development opportunity.  A hybrid conference means the presenters come to you via live streaming.  You meet locally with your colleagues and interact virtually with the presenters.

Mark your calendar for the week of September 12.  This year's Hybrid Conference will be streamed from the Orlando, Florida area on September 12 Mountain time & September 13 Pacific time zone.  September 14 Central and Eastern.  September 14 - 15 - 16 will be an in person conference.   We will have more information soon - registration will be available to reserve a spot for the Hybrid or sign up for the in person conference held in Orlando!

Going for your CVA Certification in 2016?



Live in the Orlando area?  You can take your CVA exam this year at AL!VE's & Better Impact conference in Orlando this September.  Attend the conference and take the exam as part of your session choices, or take the exam only (free).  Either way, stay to network with your colleagues and attend our evening reception!  Find out more details or sign up here.

Group Member Networking Webinars scheduled for June, September, and November

If you are involved in a leadership role in your local volunteer managers association, group, or organization, AL!VE has planned quarterly networking  roundtables.  Designed specifically for discussing topics and ideas related to these groups.  Past roundtable discussions have included:
Successful leadership models
Recruiting members for your local group
Peer Recogntion

We're planning on presenting these roundtables in June, September, and November.  If you are an AL!VE Group member, we will be notifying you about these networking events soon.

If you're an AL!VE individual member and would like to get your group involved you are welcome to attend.
