  • Grow the number, reach, and quality of local associations across the United States
  • Provide tools, resources, and support to help local associations thrive and deliver meaningful networking and professional development opportunities

Involved with a local professional association? Many AL!VE board members, committee members, and staff are also active in their own local associations and understand the value of strong, meaningful local networks. How We Support Local Associations

AL!VE advances this work in several ways, including:

  • National Directory: Hosting the only national listing of local associations for volunteer engagement professionals. Search for your association in the directory.
  • Association Management Tools: Local associations can update their listing information or opt out of the directory at any time.
  • Learning and Connection Opportunities: Producing quarterly webinars tailored specifically for local associations. These are offered as Local Associations Communities of Practice and are held on the last Wednesday of each quarter. Check the calendar for upcoming sessions.
  • National Online Convening: Hosting a national online convening for local associations, typically in October.
  • Mentorship Support: Providing experienced mentors to assist local associations with creating, renewing, or reviewing their structure, governance, and strategy.
