AL!VE's Emerging Leaders Mentor Program provides emerging leaders in volunteer engagement with guidance, support, and career development opportunities through one-on-one mentorship with experienced professionals in the field.


Overview

The Emerging Leaders Mentor Program pairs up-and-coming professionals in volunteer engagement with seasoned mentors to foster growth, share expertise, and build leadership skills. This program offers structured mentorship with a focus on real-world application, leadership development, and navigating career challenges. Mentors and mentees engage in regular conversations around key topics such as volunteer program management, strategic planning, personal career goals, and more. Through this program, emerging leaders gain the confidence and tools to excel in their roles and contribute to the broader volunteer engagement community.

The mentor program has been so encouraging. My mentor has been my advocate, cheerleader and amazing mentor. I started the program at a time in my career when I was at my lowest and was let go of my volunteer position, as my position was eliminated. Last week, I returned to the volunteer workforce as the Volunteer Manager at a mentoring non-profit. Thank you AL!VE!

Outcomes

  • Over the past 12 cohorts, there have been:
    • 128 mentee participants
    • 56 mentor participants (30% have served as mentors in 3 or more cohorts)
  • 91% of mentees are satisfied with achieving their goals for the program
  • 92% of mentees were satisfied with their mentor match
The Mentor Program was such a tremendous help to me and I value the last 6 months so much. This mentor program was truly wonderful and a blessing for me! I hope to maybe be a mentor next year.
